Question: IT staffing is experiencing relatively strong growth compared to many other segments. How concentrated is the market?
Answer: Overall, the IT staffing segment has become more concentrated. Market share of the 15 largest firms in the segment was 41 percent in 2008 but rose to 47 percent in 2009 and stood at 48 percent as of 2013. In comparison, the market share of the 15 largest US staffing firms in all segments was 32 percent in 2013.
Looking at just the top five largest IT staffing firms, their market share was 24 percent in 2008 and rose to 29 percent in 2009. It stood at 30 percent as of 2013.
