They are the next generation of leaders committed to connecting people with jobs. I am proud to introduce you to this intrepid group of career builders, the 2021 40 Under 40.

Five years ago, we celebrated our first class of the staffing industry 40 Under 40. It is important for us to continue to share the stories of this up and coming group working within the industry — those who will lead our ecosystem to the future and a new world of work. Each list has comprised dedicated professionals who are driven by the desire to help others. Whether their roles are in operations, sales or recruiting, they’re drawn to helping individuals find work, support their families and realize their own dreams. And in the process helped the industry stand upright through the pandemic. Congratulations to the 2021 40 under 40, listed alphabetically in these pages and online at 40under40.staffingindustry.com.

Our goal of helping your business run smoothly continues with this issue of Staffing Industry Review with its usual complement of columns containing expert advice and trends. For example, SIA Research Associate Kevin Chen discusses talent platforms, which have gained more of a foothold in the industry amid the pandemic and are here to stay on page 8. Turn to page 14 for the story of IT staffing firms Disys and Signature Consultants and the reasons behind their unexpected union, as told by their leaders. And Kforce General Counsel Jennifer Smayda details what companies must consider as they make plans to return to in-office work in “Benefit of Counsel,” page 15.

We hope you enjoy the read and get some valuable takeaways. And as the summer marches on, SIA is in full preparation to return to in-person conferences come September. I hope to see you in Phoenix at the Collaboration in the Gig Economy event Sept. 22-23. Until then, stay well.
