Unemployed cite it as a main obstacle in job hunt.

The American Staffing Association’s Workforce Monitor survey found 33% of unemployed US adults (excluding retirees) looking for work cited “not enough job experience” as the biggest obstacle. It was followed by gaps in work history at 22%. The next biggest obstacles were “not enough education,” “no jobs in their city/town” and “too old.”

Polarization of the labor market is widening with workforce skills not keeping up with business needs, according to the “Human Age 2.0: Future Forces at Work” report from ManpowerGroup. “The Human Age 2.0 need not be a battle of human versus robot,” said ManpowerGroup Chairman and CEO Jonas Prising. “New jobs are being created, with many individuals able to take on more fulfilling roles.
