There has never been a more turbulent time in the world of work than today. Last year saw some firms go out of business, many companies had to trim their workforces and still others hung on — barely. But the industry survived, with 2021 seeing a global growth rate of 12%.

Meet the executives who have shaped the global pandemic work experience. These leaders navigated the ups and downs of business and evangelized the industry while leading their teams through the uncertainty of Covid-19.

The Staffing 100 Europe list, featured in Staffing Industry Review for the eighth time, includes those who have helped mold the development of a market estimated to be worth approximately €390 billion. It contains attorneys, technologists, strategists, reformers and workforce specialists, as well as chief executives who have been at the helm of their companies for more than two decades. These individuals are not ranked. The idea is to give you an opportunity to view those who have kept the ecosystem — and businesses at large — going through a very difficult time.

There is no playbook for these leaders as they grapple with the impact of the pandemic. There has been a dramatic backslide on workplace issues, there are more job openings than people qualified for them and yet unemployment is high. Upskilling and reskilling are hot topics, but there is much to do before it trickles down to help those who really need it. These professionals are doing their bit to move their business units and the industry forward while dealing with complex issues. Our honourees are building new companies, products and divisions and creating a future of work where all women and men can thrive.

Congratulations to the 2021 Staffing 100 Europe, sponsored by Bullhorn.
