2021 was a year of growth. And I am not just talking about the number of fastestgrowing staffing companies on the 2022 list, which measures revenue growth from 2017 through 2021. Yes, the list more than doubled to 122 firms from last year’s 52 and overtook the number of firms on the 2020 list, which is based on revenue years that predated the pandemic; 76 firms appear on that year’s list.
Numbers aside, the industry grew in terms of how firms evolved on the talent front. There is a collective commitment businesses made to shed the habits of how they treated workers pre-pandemic. Managers are dedicated today to providing their workers flexibility and growth in a humane environment, and this includes light industrial workers in warehouses, factories and other settings.
This in turn helped drive a surge in staffing industry revenue, which rose 28% in 2021 after falling by 9% in 2020. The workplace is being structured to meet the needs of the workforce and not vice versa. And though the 2022 Fastest-Growing US Staffing Firms list is based on a five-year compound average growth rate, all the firms on the list point to people as being the biggest reason they made the list.
