It was a good year for healthcare staffing providers. They took eight of the top 10 spots on Staffing Industry Analysts’ 2017 list of Fastest-Growing Staffing Firms in the US. In addition, staffing providers listing healthcare as one of their top segments represented 35% of firms on the list. Information technology represented the second-highest concentration, accounting for 33% of the 110 firms that comprised the list.
Staffing Industry Analysts estimates healthcare staffing revenue rose 14% in 2016 alone. However, it’s more than being in the right place at the right time. The 10 fastest-growing firms’ increased focus on quality, training, culture and performance helped fuel their growth.
This year’s top 10 fastest-growing staffing firms are:

- ProLink Staffing Services and subsidiaries
- Dedicated Nursing Associates (DNA)
- Matrix Providers
- Phaidon International
- NAOS On-Site Staffing
- Accountable Healthcare Staffing
- Health Carousel
- Loyal Source
The median compound annual growth rate from 2012 through 2016 for the 10 fastest-growing staffing firms on this year’s list was 83.5%, up from 72.6% on last year’s top 10. For the 2017 list as a whole, the median CAGR was 28.2%.
To qualify for the list, firms had to post a CAGR of 15% or greater between 2012 and 2016. The list is based on US staffing revenue only, excluding acquisitions. Some firms on the list are divisions of larger firms based outside the US; in these cases, only US revenue was considered.
And while the industry has been growing, the 110 firms on this year’s list is down from 112 last year.
