Three years ago, the US began to experience a great awakening. The nation was reeling from the murders of George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery — not to mention how the pandemic was affecting minority groups far more than others. Amid the Black Lives Matter protests that summer, Corporate America began to make promises of change. They made commitments to their communities and their workforces to become diverse, equitable and inclusive.

The following year, we introduced our DE&I Influencers – US and Canada list to highlight those who are taking up the charge within the ecosystem. Indeed, that first list comprised people who were committed to DE&I long before 2020. Now, however, as we release our third annual list, we are hearing of executives losing interest in DE&I amid the current economic landscape.

Still, those devoted to DE&I are not slowing down — and while boardrooms and C-suites may be prioritizing other initiatives, talent increasingly expects DE&I to remain a focus. For the 49 people who comprise the 2023 list, it is still as important as ever as they continue to work toward diverse, equitable and inclusive workplaces. Not only that, but many support additional causes in an effort to make the world of work a place where all can succeed.

Congratulations to the 2023 DE&I Influencers – US and Canada list. We salute your dedication. Find their profiles online at dei.staffingindustry.com.
