In 2022, temporary staffing platforms represented nearly 4% of the $582 billion global temporary staffing industry, an increase from a 3% share in 2021. Prior to 2020, temporary staffing platforms were essentially immaterial, representing less than 1% of the industry.

Mergers and acquisitions activity in the workforce solutions ecosystem in 2021 and 2022 has far surpassed pre-pandemic levels, according to SIA data. 2022 saw 244 transactions within the Americas, 221 involving US targets.
